Our laboratory focuses on the causes of infertility in both male and females. We take advantage of various mouse models of infertility and its related disorders, to reveal the cellular/molecular mechanisms that underlie the spermatogenesis, oogenesis and implantation. By generating and investigating new mouse models, we are hoping that our study help to improve human fertility treatment.

Projects can be divided into four groups:
1. Molecular mechanisms of the primordial follicle maintenance, sustaining the reproductive life of women
2. Functional analysis of a transcription factor Sox17 in embryonic implantation to the uterus
3. Determination of the molecular events involved in the regulation of spermatogonial stem cells
4. Study of Sox17 knockout mice that is a model of congenital biliary atresia
